Information & Tips for your Vacation
On this page you will find a number of useful links to interesting informations to optimize your dream holidays.
Cape Coral
The first houses in Cape Coral were built in the late fifties. Cape Coral is located in southwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico and received its town charter in 1970. Cape Coral is known as ‘Venice of Southwest Florida’ and is also called ‘waterway wonderland’. The city contains a large number of canals some of which lead to the Gulf of Mexico. Many houses are along the fresh water canals, as our Villa Blue Moon with its own boat dock.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 115.10 square miles, making it the second largest in Florida. There were 170.000 (as of 2007) people residing in the city and is increased by appr. 20.000 tourists and ‘Snow Birds’ (american citizens from north of the US/Canada staying over the winter period) in the winter season. Despite the size of the city, the local criminal rate is considerable below US average.
Cape Coral is divided into Four Quadrants: NW, NE, SW and SE. The East-West Divide is Santa Barbara Blvd., and the North-South divide is Embers Pkwy/Hancock Bridge Pkwy.
Avenues, boulevard, Courts and places go from North to South. Lanes, Terraces, Streets and Parkways go from East to West. Most street addresses start with NW, NE, SW or SE which make it easy to orientate.
Cape Coral offers a broad variety of shops and international restaurants. Also many leisure, relaxing and sport choices will make your vacation an experience. Cape Coral is not only a paradise for sunbather, water sportler, golfer and fisher, but also the younger aged people will find many activities, like the Sun Splash Family Waterpark. In addition there are numerous municipal parks, playing grounds and opportunities for barbecuing or a picnic and not to forget the beach with fishing-pier and beach bar.
